By creative media it might also mean artistic and cultural works and content created for digital platforms, or distributed digitally to reach the public

TOPIC 1

Sectors,Products,Platforms and Devices

1. Media sector can be defined as a varied collection of organisations that share the production, publication and distribution of media related things such as BBC and DISNEY. The sectors need to go to a platform where the product is accessed, whereas the device is where audience consumes the the product

- Recent Digital Media Products have made it easier for audience to take in a lot of product. along side the audience producers are also affected by the new digital media. digital media has changed a lot along the years people can nowadays carry "smartphones" with them every where they go.

Creating Meaning Part 2 (Sound, Lightning and mise en scene)

1. How have stylistic codes been used to create meaning
  • Stylistic codes are used to create meaning in this poster through technical codes. they are all the ways in which equipment is used to tell the story in a media text, for this poster an example will be the camera shot. the camera shot in this is up close with the butterfly covering her mouth indicating that something is blocking her from speaking her truth. Another one is symbolic codes, this one shows beneath the surface of what we see.  an example will be the woman's eyes are wide open which shows that she is very aware of whats going on around her

Topic 6 representation

  1. Media representations of ethnicity can be said to be stereotypical through characters introduction, usually the main character is a white male this is usually in many movies. another one is if there is a female lead character she is usually blond and to society considered as dumb because of how she looks and also usually its what we have been seeing all the time so when we see a blond female automatically we think she isn't intelligent
2. The Tv show episode i watched is Power, since power is predominantly black the characters are portrayed as violent and drug dealers. most characters on there are angry which is what the media always portrays back people as.

Image result for black face

3. For the first image at that time of when the movie was set it was considered as comedy and everything that was portrayed there was not meant to offend anyone however, people still thought it was racist but most of the audience accepted it so the bad image kinda died down  bit. For the second image it's said to be black face, this is something that really offends he black communities because in the olden days the black face was considered a mockery of blacks.

4. I think that its somewhat necessary for the artist/filmmaker to have lived experience of the group of people he/she is representing because if they have experienced it its more likely be expresed through their art and as an audience it tells me that they now what they are talking about.
